How the Wasp Injection knife works
by Marshall Brain
What if you took a knife, drilled a hole through the length of the blade and added a C)2 cartridge in the hilt? You would have the WASP injection knife. Here’s a look at the knife in action:
A standard CO2 cartridge contains 12 grams of carbon dioxide. The pressure inside the cartridge is 900 PSI or so. Therefore, a portion of the CO2 is liquid. When the pressure is released, the liquid CO2 boils at -69 degrees F (-56 degrees C). So the stab victim gets a high pressure and very cold blast of carbon dioxide.
